Rotation
We all know what day and night is, but do you know what causes it?
Day and night are caused by the constant rotation of the earth on its axis. Many years ago, a large meteorite hit earth made it tilt slightly approximately 66 degrees. As the earth rotates one half faces the sun while the other half doesn’t face the sun. One full rotation takes 24 hours(one day).

Revolution
Revolution is the circling of the earth around the sun (also called an orbit).
One revolution takes 365 days (365 rotations) to fully orbit around the sun. Revolution also causes the different seasons.Spring,Summer,Autumn and Winter are all caused by the revolving of the earth around the sun. The Northern and Southern hemispheres both have different seasons and is caused by earth’s axis.
