You’ve probably heard of a Solar Eclipse but most likely never looked or learned about it so I will be telling you what it is.
A solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes between the sun and the earth casting a shadow over the area where the moon is blocking the sunlight. This year,2024 the eclipse took place in The United States from Texas to Maine. It usually lasts from 10 seconds to 7 minutes 30 seconds.Every 9 years a solar eclipse occurs. Guyana actually had a solar eclipse way back in 2006 and it lasted for 7 minutes 9 seconds.There are 2 other types of eclipses and they are a solar eclipse and a lunar eclipse the solar eclipse and be divided into 3 types they are:
Total solar eclipse(where the moon is fully blocking the sun)
Partial solar eclipse(where the moon is not fully covering the sun)
Annular eclipse(where the moon is too far from the sun but still aligned with the sun creating a ring of sunlight around the moon)
The annular eclipse is the most famous type for its ‘ring of fire’.
If you want to view an eclipse,you must wear eclipse glasses .They are specially designed to view an eclipse without blinding your eyes
