I could see nothing through the pitch black void that surrounded me. I could hear a dripping pipe somewhere nearby, teasing me cruelly. I was surprised I could hear it over the sound of my stomach rumbling, mixed with the violent tune of my thumping heart beating in fear and suspense. It had been days since I&#8217;ve seen something even closely resembling a ray of light. I was thirsty, hungry, and it felt like I&#8217;ve been walking for hours. I couldn&#8217;t trust what was there in the dark, therefore, I couldn&#8217;t stay in one place for too long in case something gets me. It&#8217;s driving me crazy. The feeling of hearing my own heart over the sound of a dripping pipe is unnerving. I do not like it here. I want to leave. Please, let me leave&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I felt a sharp pain through my foot as I walked, stopping abruptly in the spot I last took a step. I&#8217;ve been walking for far too long and I knew that.
